GOLDEN CITY- Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Golden City for Orville Duncan, 97, Golden City, who died Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at the Good Shepard Nursing Home in Lockwood, where he had been a resident since August of 2016.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.
Contributions are suggested to the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Duncan and wife Joyce and Keith Duncan and wife Cynthia, Golden City; a daughter, Dixie Lou Wolf and husband Gary, Sarcoxie; six granddaughters, Stacie Pittsenbarger and husband Mike, Lindsay Todd and husband Laramie, Ashley Davis and husband Brandon, Dr. Haley Wolf, Shelley Engle and husband Joe and Montana Borseth and husband Benj and nine great-grandchildren, Logan and Drew Pittsenbarger, Lincoln and Laken Todd, Braxton and Garrison Davis, JJ and Presley Engle and Emilia Borseth; one brother, Glen Duncan, Lamar; one brother-in-law, Ed Weinstein, Golden City; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Probert and Betty Probert, Golden City and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Duncan and Bob Duncan and two sisters, Esther Wilhelm and Alice Robertson.
Mr. Duncan was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Barton County to Charles W. and Mamie (Marlatt) Duncan. He lived his entire life in Barton County, except for the time he was in the service. He was a World War II veteran, stationed in the Philippines. After his service, he returned to Barton County and farmed. He especially seemed to love livestock.
He married Wanda Lou Probert on Oct. 11, 1947. She died July 31, 2007.
