DON LEAMING

JASPER- A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Jasper First Baptist Church for Leo Don Leaming, 84, Jasper, who died Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at his home. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 6 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Jasper First Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Catherine; two sons, Robert Leaming and wife Kathy, Jasper and Dale Leaming, of the home; one brother, Charles Leaming and wife Olivia, Jasper; one sister, Linda Schanfarber, Springfield; one granddaughter, Heather Miller and husband Chris, Alba and one great-grandchild, Nate Miller, Alba.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Leaming and Roger Leaming.

Mr. Leaming was born Sept. 25, 1934, in LaRussell to Lester and Lena (Rayl) Leaming. He was a 1953 Jasper High School graduate. He was owner of Don Leaming Trucking, Inc. and was a member of Jasper First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for over 50 years.

He married his high school sweetheart, Catherine Jane Anderson, on June 19, 1953.
