Jack and Olene Purinton started Barton County Implement, a John Deere dealership, in 1956. Over the years, and through the hard work and dedication of Jack (junior) and Betty Purinton, the business has remained very successful, eventually becoming Legacy Farm and Lawn. Legacy recently sold to Heritage Tractor and Jack and Betty will begin their new life as they still remain active. The two are involved in many various local business endeavors, including a tractor museum. Jack and Betty were awarded a statue from John Deere, recognizing them for their 63 years of dedication and service to the community, as well as to their customers. Cake and punch were served, with many stopping by to wish both Jack and Betty their best and to thank them for all they have done.
