JUNE DEWITT

LAMAR-Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, for June Marie DeWitt, 84, Lamar, who died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m, at the funeral home.

Survivors include six children, Steven Charles DeWitt and wife Sarabelle, Lamar, Vicki Lynn Saienga and husband Scott, Ames, Iowa, Kitty Lea Odell and husband George, Lamar, Christy Lana Strong and husband David, Lamar, Sherri Laura Wilson and husband Joseph, Lamar and Michael Shane DeWitt and wife Georgia, Kenoma; three sisters, Inez Stevens, Grand Junction, Iowa, Ardeth Holmes, Cedar Falls, Iowa and Susan Bates, Panora, Iowa; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Lawrence and Francis Beardsley and two grandsons, Nathaniel Strong and Steven Nicholas DeWitt.

Mrs. DeWitt was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, to Forest and Marie (Kuster) Hardin. She was a farmer's wife and a homemaker. She also worked outside the home on a few occasions. She was a school cook, known for her cinnamon rolls and also worked some for Lakeview nursing home.

She married Charles Junior Sonny DeWitt on April 28, 1951, in Glenwood, Iowa. He died Oct. 15, 1988.
