GOLDEN CITY- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lamar First Baptist Church for Kenneth “Gene” and Opal Pauline Harris, Golden City, who died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at their home, as a result of the tornado that swept through the Golden City area. Pastor Robb Hodson will officiate. Burial will follow in Lake Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service time, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Ronald McDonald House, in care of the funeral home.

The junior class at Lamar High School hosted Senior Prom 2024. The event was held Saturday, April 20, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 96 Elite in Oronogo. Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Picnic in the Park drew several despite the rainy and stormy weather that was experienced throughout the day. Several food trucks were available to offer a wide variety of choices to those stopping by to dine. Menus from the various food trucks were listed on the Lamar City Park facebook page, along with their phone number to call for easy access. The next Picnic in the Park will be held Thursday, May 23, for both lunch and dinner, at the Lamar City Park.

Treycen Coy, son of Matthew Coy and Angie Coy, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In his spare time Treycen likes to play football, eat, play with his brothers and sisters in his yard and mow the lawn. His favorite college team is the Oklahoma Sooners and his favorite NFL team is the Kansas City Chiefs.
