CARL L. PITTS

LIBERAL-No services are scheduled at this time for Carl L. Pitts, 83, Liberal, who died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, in Lamar. Per his wishes he will be cremated and his ashes buried in the Liberal City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife Ola Pitts, of the home; a son, David Pitts, Pittsburg, Kan.; two grandchildren, Brandi Pitts and David Pitts; three great-grandchildren, Cale Long, Corbin Long and Carabella Rose Pitts and a brother, Claude, Fulton.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Mr. Pitts was born July 6, 1932, in Jerico Springs, to Clarence Franklin and Mary Pearl (Jenkins) Pitts. He was reared on a farm near Arcadia, Kan., where he graduated from high school.

He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1957 and after his service to his country he later worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation for 21 years, retiring in 1988.

He was married to Mary Catherine Trotter until her death in 1996. He later married Ola B. Allen in 1998.
