LUELLA BELLE DRISKEL

LAMAR- Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada for Luella Belle Driskel, 84, formerly of Sheldon, who died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at Truman Healthcare and Rehab in Lamar. Rev. Kent Garfield officiated. Interment followed in Sheldon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis E. Hagerman and husband Ralph, Lockwood; one son, Clinton D. Driskel and wife Julie, Sheldon; five grandchildren, Michael Hagerman and wife Robyn, Ozark, Jeremy Hagerman and wife Becki, Tahlequah, Okla., Lyddia Gilmore and husband Steve, Carl Junction, Clinton Driskel, Jr., Bronaugh and Darcey Mize and husband Chris, Liberal; one brother, Walter Ford and wife Mary, Sheldon; 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darce and five siblings.

Mrs. Driskel was born Sept. 25, 1934, in rural Sheldon, to George H. and Sylvia I. (Hoover) Ford. She married Darce Driskel on July 13, 1954, in Kenoma.

She grew up outside of Sheldon and was a Sheldon High School graduate. Throughout her life she worked in various places as a skilled laborer. She loved living on the family farm with her husband, where they reared their family. She lived in Barton and Vernon counties all of her life. She enjoyed crocheting and loved being a part of her family’s lives.
