SHEILA JANE DOOLIN

SPRINGFIELD- At her request, no services will be held for Sheila Jane (Boyer) Doolin, 73, who died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, in Springfield. The family encourages those wishing to honor her life to hang a hummingbird feeder at their home in her memory, to carry her passion onward.

Her care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood-Crematory.

Survivors include three sons, Rodney Blalock and wife Pamela, Bridgeton, Randy Blalock and wife Dawn, Eldon and Ronald Blalock and wife Marsha, Lamar; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Doolin in 2004; a granddaughter, Yolanda (Blalock) Rousseau in 2017 and a granddaughter, Amanda Dawn Bax in 2017.

Mrs. Doolin was born July 7, 1946, the only child of Clyde Arthur and Ruby Marie (Hummingbird) Boyer. She attended Argentine High School in Kansas City, Kan. and enjoyed marching in the American Royal parade as an Argentinette.

She most recently resided in Greenfield. She was a free spirit who moved about as frequently as her whims took her. She resided in many places in Missouri and made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed cooking, growing tomatoes and roses, feeding and watching hummingbirds and playing Bingo. Her homemade fudge was amazing! She was proud of her Native Indian heritage and always kept her hair long out of respect for her daddy, who told her never to cut it.
