LARRY DEE CHEERS

LAMAR- A private family burial will be held in Fugate Cemetery in Greentop for Larry Dee Cheers, 75, Lamar, who died Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at Cox Barton County Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Cheers, of the home; a son, Terry Cheers and wife Amanda, Springfield; a daughter, Kimberly Raper and husband Brian, Coffeyville, Kan.; a sister, Jeannette King, Greentop; three grandchildren, Andrew and Shawn Raper and Hunter Cheers; two nephews, Randy King and wife Lori and Tim King and wife Lisa; one niece, Patti Craig and husband Ralph and several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ron King.
Mr. Cheers was born Oct. 7, 1943, in Prescott, Iowa, to Del D. and Alberta Mae (Bridger) Cheers. He served his country in the 15th artillery in the US Army from June of 1965 to May of 1967. He was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the National Defense service medal and the Good Conduct medal. He received his field artillery basics education in Fort Sill, Okla.
He married Joyce Elaine (Bailey) Cheers. He was an over the road truck driver and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and his grand-babies.
