WOLCOTT, Ind.- Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. (EST) Tuesday, at Wolcott Apostolic Christian Church, for Gladys E. Widmer, 93, Wolcott, who died Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus of West Lafayette. Ministers of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (EST) on Monday, at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott, or one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to Harvest Call Jamaica or the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Church Charity Fund.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Widmer and their children, Laurel Widmer, West Lafayette and Neal Widmer and wife Kris, Battle Ground; a sister, Arles Kropf, Francisville; grandchildren, John Widmer and wife Brooke, Brad Widmer and wife Amber, Blake Widmer and wife Tashi, Matt Widmer and wife Tamara and Katie Gerber and husband Matthew; great-grandchildren, Jersey, Judah, Andi, Sylvie, Quincy, Brandy, Alyene, Irelyn, Cray, Jacob and Bostyn; a sister-in-law, Mary Engelage, Lamar, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Schladenhauffen.

Mrs. Widmer was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Wolcott, to Levi and Emma (Hirstein) Kropf. She was a 1943 graduate of Wolcott High School. Her marriage of 68 years was to Edward A. Widmer on Nov. 18, 1950, in Wolcott.

She was a faithful member of the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Church. She was a bookkeeper at Geo. D. Dye and Son for many years and enjoyed spending her time sewing, cooking and crocheting. Most of all, she was a devoted wife and mother who cherished quality time spent with her family.
