BILL JAMES

GOLDEN CITY- Services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Golden City for William Terrill James, 88, Golden City, who died Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at Good Shepherd Community Care. The family will receives friends prior to the service, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Arrangements a under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to First Christian Church I.O.O.F. Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Juanita; a sister, Ruthe James; brothers-in-law, Delbert Fanning and wife Lena and Gene Fanning and wife Sue; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou York and husband Glen and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert James and four sisters, Darcus Foster, Ella Singleton, Glyda Darnell and Farron Godfrey.
Mr. James was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Lebanon, Mo., to George Farmer and Vesta (Todd) James. He married Juanita L. Fanning on April 30, 1949. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1952 until 1954. He worked for Consolidated Freight Ways in Kansas City for 35 years and as an auctioneer for 25 years. After retiring, he spent several years as a mechanic for Fanning Service Center in Golden City. He loved to fish and hunt and was very proud of his Brittany hunting dogs. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Golden City, helping to remodel the sanctuary, parsonage and family life center.
