BUFFALO- Graveside services will be held at a later date for Ethel “June” (Rosenbaum) Garver, 95, Buffalo, who died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, at Buffalo Prairie Care Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Turner Faulkner, Bolivar; three granddaughters, Shelli McVey and husband Kevin, Mitzi Poole and Wendee Garver and husband Ryan; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren with another due in March; two sisters, Faye Thornton and Arleta Sha and husband Sam and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elton Turner and second husband, James Garver; a son, Gene Edward Turner; five brothers, Lewis, Dee, James, Ernest and Walter Rosenbaum and a grandson/adopted son, Andrew Turner Garver.

Mrs. Garver was born June 7, 1924, in Stockton, in Cedar County, to Fred Olin and Laura “Maude” (Martin) Rosenbaum. She attended Excelsior Springs School and spent her early life in Cedar County.

She married Elton Turner on Feb. 21, 1941. They later divorced and she married James Elton Garver at Warsaw. They moved to Mindenmines and spent the remainder of their lives there.

Mrs. Garver had worked from an early age, helping elderly people and caring for mothers and babies. She also worked for the State of Kansas for 16 years in home health care. She retired at the age of 74. She loved her flowers, gardening, birds, reading and crocheting.

She was saved at a revival at Excelsior Springs at the age of 12 and attended Mindenmines Baptist Church. She later attended the Meadowside Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Kan. She loved her church and the Lord.
