TWIN FALLS, IDAHO- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Farnsworth Mortuary for Thelma Berniece Shaffer, 87, Twin Falls, who died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020. Graveside services will follow at Jerome Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at the mortuary, 1343 S. Lincoln Ave., Jerome.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Shaffer and wife Janelle, Pullman, Wash. and Kenneth “Kenny” Shaffer, Twin Falls; two daughters, Jane Elliott, Buhl and Jean Goodrich and husband Mike, Santa Clara, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and siblings, Carroll Fitchpatrick and wife Louella, Topeka, Kan., Clifford Fitchpatrick and wife Nita, Jasper, Mo., Elena Fitchpatrick, Jasper, Mo., Wanda Rector, Nevada, Mo. and Delores Whitehead, Neosho, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Shaffer and siblings, Benjamin Fitchpatrick, Harriet Robertson and Eva Louise Cavener.

Mrs. Shaffer was born June 18, 1932, in Jasper, Mo., to Earl Morgan and Lenna Helen (Quade) Fitchpatrick. She was a 1950 graduate of Golden City (Mo.) High School. She married Arthur Shaffer on Feb. 23, 1951, in Bentonville, Ark.

She was a member of Jerome Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed puzzles, Chinese checkers, card games and rummikub games. She was happiest when visiting and singing with family, canning together, cooking, birdwatching, especially hummingbirds, family holidays and making homemade ice cream with her kids and grandkids.
