LHS girls swim team rocks Big 8 Conference

At the Big 8 Conference Championships on January 28, the Lamar High School Girls Relay Team of Haily Born, Kaitlyn Davis, Emma Tennal and Meghan Watson defended their title in the 400 yard freestyle relay and placed second in the 200 yard medley relay, earning Best Times in both events.

Lamar Tigers dominate Jasper
The junior class at Lamar High School hosted Senior Prom 2024. The event was held Saturday, April 20, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 96 Elite in Oronogo. Prior to the event, family and friends gathered to support their students as they showed off a vide variety of prom wear at the Promenade, held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Wyatt Earp Park in Lamar.

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Picnic in the Park drew several despite the rainy and stormy weather that was experienced throughout the day. Several food trucks were available to offer a wide variety of choices to those stopping by to dine. Menus from the various food trucks were listed on the Lamar City Park facebook page, along with their phone number to call for easy access. The next Picnic in the Park will be held Thursday, May 23, for both lunch and dinner, at the Lamar City Park.
