ANNETTA M. POIROT
RURAL GOLDEN CITY-A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lockwood Cemetery for Annetta Margaret Poirot, 90, rural Golden City, who died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pugh Funeral Home, Golden City.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
Survivors include her husband, Severin Poirot; five children, Severin Poirot and wife Venecia, Republic, Michael Poirot and wife Patricia, Miller and Mary Jones and husband David, Jonathan Poirot and Christopher Poirot, all of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Justin and wife Deidre, Benjamin and wife Courtney, Marie, Nina, Lathan, Andy and Leanne and four great-grandchildren, Lucy, Alexander, Allysum and Garrett.
Mrs. Poirot was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Memphis, Tenn., to John W. and Annetta (Jarboe) Meyer. She grew up in St. Louis and graduated with a degree in elementary education from University of Missouri in 1948. She married Severin E. Poirot on May 7, 1948, in Columbia, and together they moved to the Poirot family farm in 1950. In addition to rearing five children, she pursued genealogy, tracing hers and her husband's family history to the 18th century. She also enjoyed painting, drawing, knitting, scrapbooking, playing Christmas carols in July, collecting anything that was red and reading. She was an avid fan of the music of Scott Joplin.
