Why a recap of basketball, you ask?

I've often been asked why we put out a fall sports preview, but nothing previewing the winter or spring sports. The answer has been a simple one - there was never time. Our fall sports preview is more than a month in the works each year. A lot goes into that and there simply isn't enough time to work up all that copy, shoot all of those photos and procure and build all of those ads and then put it all together in the time between the end of football and the beginning of basketball. The same can be true of the spring sports.

With the start of the spring sports season in limbo because schools are closed as preventive measures in combating COVID-19, we've decided to give our readers some sports in the form of a recap of basketball season. Perhaps we can make this an annual special, like the fall sports preview. We will have to cram it in between the end of basketball and the beginning of the spring sports seasons, but if we get the cooperation we need from the area teams, it might be a possibility. We hope so and we hope you enjoy looking back at your favorite teams and their highlights from 2019-2020.

We also hope that you are healthy and safe, and practicing social distancing. And for the sake of all the hardworking athletes whose seasons are on hold, we hope that we can all get out and watch baseball, softball, track and field athletes and golfers perform very soon.
