Golden City to hold essentials food pantry

GOLDEN CITY- The City of Golden City, First Christian Church of Golden City, First Baptist Church of Golden City, Presbyterian Church, Golden Homes, The Porch and Barton County Emergency Management will hold an essentials food pantry on Friday, April 17, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Golden City Community Building, 707 Depot Ave.

All that is asked is that individuals must live in the community and they must call ahead. Call city hall at 417-537-4351 or any of the churches listed above to get your name on the list. Anyone wishing to receive this service must call in by 12 noon on Thursday, April 16.

Information needed will include allergies, family size, proof of residence and if it will be delivery or pick up.

The pick up line will begin in the alley behind city hall on A Street. Those participating should pull up to the double doors at the community center and wait for their box. Participants do not get out of the car.

This service is provided to benefit anyone who resides in the Golden City community that has been affected by the recent COVID-19 issues. There are no income guidelines. This applies to single residents as well as families.
