ALLE JON HARRIS

CARTHAGE- A private graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar for Alle Jon “Jonnie” Harris, 87, Carthage, who died Sunday, April 12, 2020.

Arrangements were under the direction of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church, in care of the funeral chapel.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Harris and wife Sheila, Jasper, Ricky Harris and wife Mary, Golden City and Jerry Harris and wife Sandy, Lamar; two daughters, Vicki Punch and husband Bill, Neosho and Susan Payne and husband Bryce, El Dorado Springs; one brother, Ken Vickers and wife Shirley, Bogata, Texas; one sister, Pat Cox and husband Eugene, Detroit, Texas; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Wirth, Golden City; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Aaron and Jeff Kemm, Chad and Kelly Harris, Bryan and Travis Payne and Amber Johnson and 13 great-grandchildren, Isaih, Alle, Hanna, Ashley, Ella, Jasper, Jake, Weston, Preslee, Tatumn, Cooper, Adelaide and Cru.

She was preceded in death by a son, Teddy Harris; two brothers, Wayne Vickers and H.C. Vickers and one sister, Thelma Baker.

Mrs. Harris was born April 29, 1932, in Clarksville, Texas, to Henry Wyatt and Evie (Morgan) Vickers. She graduated from Bogota High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church.

She married George Wayne Harris on Oct. 17, 1953, at Corpus Christi, Texas. He died May 12, 1997.
