Mr. Bass was born April 16, 1949, in Jerico Springs, to Ora and Thelma (Moore) Bass. He attended high school in Lockwood. He worked many different jobs over the years. He worked as a butcher, drove a lime truck and had a hay business. He worked at O’Sullivan Industries and Thorco, where he was the lead welder in arc welding, retiring after 35 years.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He spent his time in the outdoors, whether for work or recreation. He came in to either warm up or cool off, but was content to spend his time outside or in his workshop. He was very creative and resourceful. He could figure out how to fix anything or create something useful when needed and was known to never throw anything away just in case he needed it for some purpose later.
His dog Shadow, his faithful and constant companion, died just a week before he did.
