MARION LEE GIGER

LAMAR- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Marion Lee Giger, 89, Lamar, who died Friday, May 1, 2020, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, after a short illness.

Survivors include his wife, Leila; a son, Richard Giger and Derelene Knight, Lamar; six grandchildren, Dusty Giger and wife Amy, Josh Giger and wife Brenna, Austin Phipps, Casey Phipps and wife Jo, Brent Phipps and wife Amy and Justin Braudaway, as well as six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Braudaway; one brother and three sisters.

Mr. Giger was born Oct. 26, 1930, in Irwin, to Grover Marion Giger and Theo Riddle. He married Leila Ellen Clark on Sept. 17, 1954, in Kenoma.

He had worked as a crop and cattle farmer and also as a stomp shear operator at Thorco, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Lamar VFW.
