WHEATLAND- A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, at the Jasper Cemetery near Reeds, for Larry Douglas "Doug" Hibdon, 80, Wheatland, who died Saturday, May 30, 2020, at his home, following a long illness.

Arrangements were under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include his children, son Larry and Linda Hibdon, Platte City and grandkids Nikki Hibdon and Frank Sola, Zach and Becky Hibdon, Sarah and Adam Perdue and David and Tara Painter, daughter Julie McGuire and husband Bear, Wheatland and grandkids Nicholas and Leslie Staffieri, Andrea and Aaron Jones and Shelbie McGuire and fiancé JD Henderson and daughter Paula Carpenter and Bontey Juwor, Liberty and grandkids Corporal Tyler Carpenter USMC and Faith Juwor; great-grandchildren, Gideon Sola and Lizzy Fox, Audrey Reed and Millie Hibdon, Jensen Perdue, Sloane Perdue and Ford Perdue, Zach Painter, Lily Painter, Roman Painter, Poppy Painter and Violet Painter, Leo Staffieri, Bailey Banks, Robbie Banks and Jase Clark, Zoe Clark, Ryder Clark, Lily Jones, Rosy Jones and Holly Jones; six brothers Ron Hibdon, Jim Hibdon, Reggie Hibdon, Russell Hibdon, Mike Hibdon and Mark Hibdon and one sister, Rita Boyd.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joanne and two brothers, Bob Hibdon and Olen Hibdon Jr.

Mr. Hibdon was born December 26, 1939, in Arlington, Calif., to Olen Oliver Hibdon and Hope Geraldine (Lamb) Hibdon. He graduated from Carthage High School in the class of 1957 and on October 19, 1958 he married Marcia Joanne Fitzpatrick in Perris, Calif. Together they raised three children.

He worked as a superintendent at Guy's Foods in Liberty before retiring to Lake Pomme de Terre. He enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting, but most of all his large family.
