DAVID E. KLEEMAN

LAMAR- A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for David E. Kleeman, 66, Lamar, who died Friday June 19, 2020. A graveside service at Lake Cemetery will follow at 3 p.m.

Survivors include a son Donnie Kleeman and wife Lena, Sheldon; a daughter, Stacey Wright and husband Brad, Ft. Scott, Kan.; eight grandchildren, Chelsey Barnes, Caleb Lovan, Blake Lovan, Ella Kleeman, Emma Kleeman, Adilynn Kleeman, Karli Wright and Jakob Wright and three great-grandchildren, Jaylin Lovan, Declan Lovan and Noah Barnes. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Wright; his closest friends, Lonnie and Barb Stilabower; nephews, Terry Kleeman and his family and Shannon Howard and his family and a niece, Melissa Pence and her family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his life companion of 33 years, Susan Carpenter; a brother, Jariel “Jake” Kleeman and a great-grandchild, Kaison Barnes.
Mr. Kleeman was born on July 28, 1953, in Marshfield, to Udo and Marjorie (Young) Kleeman. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1971. After graduating he went to work for MoDOT at the State Barn in Lamar. He had also worked for Barton County Consolidated Rural Water District for 35 years, until he retired in July of 2014. He owned Dave’s Place from 1993 to 1997, when he sold it to the Elks Lodge and became a member. He liked to fish, race at Mo-Kan and Nevada Speedway and play with his grandchildren.
