Burton signs to play for Oklahoma City University

College Heights high school senior Connor Burton recently signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Oklahoma City University. Burton, who averaged 15 points and eight rebounds per night during his high school career, also earned himself 1,000 career points. During his high school career, Burton was named two-time All-Conference and two-time All-District. While playing at Oklahoma City University, Burton will be pursuing a degree in business, after being awarded a fellowship to the Meinders School of Business. Connor is the son of Erick and Erica Burton of Lamar.

Mustangs top Tigers
The Lamar girls swim team competed at the Ozark Invitational in Springfield on January 9. The Lady Tigers finished ninth overall out of 25 teams in the largest swim meet of the season, trailing the seventh place team by only three points. LHS earned seven medals at this event, including the 200 yard medley relay (Audrey Osterdyk, Kaitlyn Davis, Meghan Watson and Emma Tennal), which finished fifth overall with a PR of 2:05.54. Davis and Watson also earned medals in their individual races.
LHS Lady Tigers swim team have impressive showing
The Lamar High School girls swim team claimed their first victory in team competition at the Joplin Duals on January 14. The team won eight of the 11 races and placed in the top three in the other three races. LHS girls swim team claim victory at Joplin Duals
The Diamond Lady Wildcats won the Golden City Tournament last week.
