LAMAR- A private graveside service will be held Friday, at Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan., with full military honors, for Randall “Uncle Randy” Davey, 59, Lamar, who died Monday, July 13, 2020, at his home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Contributions are suggested to the family and made payable in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include one son, Donald Davey and wife Chantelle, Lamar; five brothers, Jack Davey and wife Jill, Denver, Colo., William Davey and wife Rebecca, Sellersville, Penn., Robert Davey and wife Vicki, Drexel, Gene Davey and Larry Davey and wife Sandy, all of Iantha; one sister, Nancy Davey, Lamar and three grandchildren, Taylor Hornsby, Donald Lee Davey Jr. and Karma Hornsby, all of Lamar, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Davey was born June 5, 1961, in Olathe, Kan., to Donald Lee Davey and Norma Madaline (Mason) Davey. He was a 1980 graduate of El Dorado Springs High School. He joined the Army in 1980 and did his Basic Training and AIT at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Ga. He was stationed at Fort Sill and later in Germany in the early 1980's and was later a member of the National Guard at Camp Clark in Nevada, Mo.

He worked for Bub Curless at the bowling alley and catering business in the late 1980's to mid 1990's. He then worked at Standley Construction from 1996 to 2004, followed by building grain bins the past several years until his health began to fail. He was an avid pool player and an outdoorsman. He was liked and loved by most everyone he met, always looking for the good in everyone. He was a member of the Lamar Family Ministries Church in Lamar.
