Lamar TigerSharks hold “fitness season”

After the Tri-State Conference cancelled its competitive swim season, due to COVID, the Lamar TigerSharks regrouped to hold a “fitness season” this summer. Led by Head Coach Koleton Mahurin and Coach Susan Roland, 13 team members were able to participate in an informal dual meet, hosted by the Joplin Stingrays, on July 16.

Lamar Tigers dominate Jasper
The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Sixth grade girls earn Kansas State Championship
Lockwood High School cheerleaders Kalsee Garoutte, Rachel Baugh and Mekenzi Weimer recently received Academic All-State honors. To receive Academic All-State for cheer, one must be a varsity cheerleader, have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5, be in the top 20 percent of their class and be a current senior, junior or sophomore.

Deadline nearing for citywide garage sale listing
Shiloh Wilkinson, daughter of TJ and Melissa Wilkinson, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Shiloh enjoys drawing and reading in her spare time. She plans on playing volleyball or basketball next year. Her favorite subjects are Social Studies and Reading, because both teachers make it a lot of fun while they teach.
