LAMAR- A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Daniel Funeral Home, for Marvin Day Besendorfer, 77, Lamar, who died Thursday, July 30, 2020, at his home with his loving wife Cristina, youngest son Adam Besendorfer and Adam's girlfriend, Elizabeth Turnbull at his side.

Survivors include his wife Cristina; one daughter; Charity Besendorfer Buchanan and five sons, Daniel Besendorfer, Larry Besendorfer, James Besendorfer, Marvin Day Besendorfer and Adam Besendorfer.

He was preceded in death by two children, a son Ronald Besendorfer and one daughter Sandra Besendorfer.

Mr. Besendorfer was born March 25, 1943, in Woods Cross, Utah to George Henry Besendorfer and Martha (Day) Besendorfer. Marvin was an American self-made man who was raised near Adrian, Ore. on his parent's dairy farm. In 1958 he married Ellen Guthrie and together they raised eight children, Daniel, Larry, James, Marvin, Adam, Charity, Sandra (passed in 2012) and Ronald (passed in 2020).

He then married Cristina Schnee on June 19, 1987 and she survives. He was devoted to his God and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to all ages. He was also a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.

He worked as a dairyman, sugar beet farmer and fresh water well driller in the Eastern Idaho area. Their family moved to Barton County in 1978 and settled in Iantha, where once again he became a dairy farmer and also worked as a repairman for O'Sullivan Industries.

His son Adam said, "his Dad grabbed every opportunity that came along to care for his family".
