The Barton County Historical Society has finally completed a project that they have been working on for several years. They now have a wall dedicated to the entire history of the Lamar Fair, going all the way back to 1871. Fair items used to be spread out all over the museum, but now they are in one place. The wall includes fair plates, photos of the nearly 150 years of the fair’s history and maps, diagrams and advertising from the three different eras of the fair. The wall also contains a poster describing the entire fair history and the people and places involved. A slideshow containing over 300 photos of the Lamar Fair is on display for viewing. This DVD is available for purchase for just $7. The museum will be open Thursday through Saturday of the fair.
