LAMAR- A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Harvey Blaine Buzzard, 81, Lamar, who died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Iantha Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jean; sons, Craig Buzzard and wife Kendra and Derek Buzzard and wife Charity; grandchildren, Cody Buzzard and wife Regina, Kyle Buzzard and wife Lyndsey, Clayton Buzzard and wife Marissa, Sam Buzzard, Kaden Buzzard, Brooke Buzzard and Zander Buzzard; one great-grandson, Gentry Buzzard. And two brothers, Wayne Buzzard and wife Patsy and Lee Buzzard and wife Marguerite.

He was preceded in death by a son Terry Buzzard; a sister, Marguerit Thornberg and a niece, Joyce Buzzard.

Mr. Buzzard as born Oct. 2, 1938, in Barton County, to Richard and Ethel (White) Buzzard. He grew up in Barton County and was a 1956 graduate of Lamar High School. He married Jean Ison on Oct. 6, 1957. He worked as a printer, first for the newspaper and then he purchased and ran the Barton County Print Shop.

He loved to tinker in his shop and was known for his woodworking, especially his bows and turkey calls. He kept an amazingly organized shop with a place for every immaculately kept, clean, perfectly sharpened, painted tool. He enjoyed people and never met a stranger. He always had a story and they were always true. Those who knew him will fondly remember him and remember his habit as he walked them out the door saying, “I’ve got one more thing to tell you…..”
