MULBERRY, Kan.-A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Liberal Christian Church in Liberal, Mo., for Carolyn Sue Gover Greener Steele, 66, Mulberry, who died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.
Arrangements were under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, Mo.

Survivors include her husband, John Steele, Mulberry; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Vickie Greener, Gardner; a son, Jon Aaron Greener, his partner, Stephanie Hamilton and her daughters, Shaelee, Casper, Wyo. and Augiste and Isabelle, Eudora; aunts, Evelyn Gover and Ruth Reed, Independence, Mo. and a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Terry Howerton; a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Mary Jo Gover; a niece, Nicole Sharp and daughter Ophelia and a nephew, Daniel Howerton, all of northwest Arkansas, plus a large, loving extended family and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Mildred Gover and two nephews, Matthew Scott Howerton and Michael Levi Gover.
Mrs. Steele was born Feb. 21, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., to Everett Scott and Mildred Mae (Oglesby) Gover. She was a 1967 graduate of Lee's Summit (Mo.) High School and received her associate degree from Central Missouri State University in 1969. She had been employed at Computing Plus in Pittsburg for more than 35 years.
She married John Steele in 1997 and they moved to Golden City, Mo., where he was the minister at the Golden City Christian Church. They had resided in Mulberry for the last few years.
