LATHROP- A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Daniel Funeral Home for Rena Effie Barr, 81, Lathrop, who died Monday, Sept. 7, 2020, at her home. Burial will follow in Howell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include a son Tim Riley and wife Lisa, Lamar; three daughters, Carol Barlow, Donna Bogart and husband Jamie, Agency and Lori Wolf and husband Danny, Warsaw; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Herring, Billy Dohle and wife Alaina, Chelsea Riley, Trevon Riley, Shelby Neal and husband Jesse, Katrina Chastain and husband Alex, Ben Peterson and Brooke Peterson; 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, John and Lawrence Gruver and four sisters, Pauline Moore, Loretta Green, JoAnn Blackwell and Jane Taffner.

Mrs. Barr was born September 9, 1938, in Harwood, to Abram Frank Gruver and Nellie (Hillsman) Gruver.

She worked as a supervisor at an ammunition plant. She enjoyed her family and time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved her flowers and hummingbirds. Her hobbies were puzzles, gardening and crocheting.
