Mr. Seusy grew up on a farm in Bavaria, Kan., where his father entrusted him from a very young age with driving tractors and trucks filled with wheat. He had a wonderful sense of economy, valuing ideas and people more than things. He was known for his humor and dry wit, along with his clear thinking and apt metaphors.
He loved the land and animals and could often be found tending his backyard garden. As a father, he was attentive and supportive of his children's various activities, attending school events and teacher conferences.
He was a graduate of Kansas State University and the United States Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. He also earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of New Mexico. He worked for many years as an engineer for the Weapons Lab at Kirkland Air Force Base. After retiring from public service, he served as a principal engineer for Applied Research Associates.
In later years he enjoyed hiking in the mountains and foothills, as well as riding his bike. He was also a volunteer, along with his friend and caregiver Chris Jacobsen, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital.
