Golden City R-3 Hall of Fame put on hold

GOLDEN CITY- The Golden City R-3 Hall of Fame, that had previously been scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13, has been put on hold due to the recent upswing of COVID-19 cases. The school administration sent out a letter stating that after much discussion and prayer, they have decided that they’re not comfortable with having the hall of fame banquet at this time.

Bringing a large crowd into the school setting may exacerbate the situation and due to the possibility of problems with students, staff and elderly visitors due to COVID-19, the administration believes that this is the correct decision at this time.

After the first of the year the school district will look to see if they would like to try for a spring event or to do two years of honorees next fall.
