LIBERAL- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakton United Methodist Church for Rose Ann Overman, 78, Liberal, who died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, at her home. Burial will be in Nashville Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Show Me Christian Youth Home Leadership U program.

Survivors include her son, Howard Overman and wife Tracy, Liberal; a daughter, Shellie Blevens, Liberal; three grandchildren, Taylor Overman and wife Brooke, Liberal, Brandon Overman, Liberal and Ashley Cole and husband Jakeob, Lincoln, Neb. and two great-grandchildren, Rhett and Walker Overman, Liberal. Mrs. Overman is also survived by a brother, Don Smith and wife Fran, Pittsburg, Kan.; a sister, Carrie Wilson and husband Randy, Webb City and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Mrs. Overman was born Sept. 22, 1942, in Vallejo, Calif., to Cecil and Lois (Runnels) Smith. She was a member of the Oakton United Methodist Church. She attended North Star Elementary, a one room schoolhouse until eighth grade and then Liberal High School, where she graduated in 1960. She married Rodney Overman on Oct. 2, 1960, at the Nashville Christian Church. Together they raised two children, Howard and Shellie.

She worked for Glick Mercantile as a key punch operator for about three years until her children came along. She served 35 years as a clerk for Nashville Township and also served on the Extension Council and the FHA Committee. She enjoyed line dancing and dancing the two step with her husband. She was a great farm businesswoman.

Mrs. Overman inherited her mechanical skills from her dad and not only loved driving her tractors, but enjoyed working on them just as much. She was a hard-working woman who loved her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved going to their ball games.

She also enjoyed feeding her family and friends and although she was known as a good all-around cook, she was especially known for her amazing pies.
