MARJORIE VETTER
GOLDEN CITY-Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery for Marjorie Audrey Vetter, 88, Golden City, who died at 2:16 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar. Pastor Gary Griffin will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pugh Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran School in Lockwood.
Survivors include her children, Linda Strange and Elizabeth Hand and companion John Divine, Golden City, Julie Broadbent and husband Steven, Springfield and Peter Vetter, Yamhill, Ore.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Susan, a great-grandson, Brandon Stephenson, two brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Vetter was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Milwaukee, Wisc., to Bernard and Marie (Strohhoecker) Ahlmann. She and her husband made their home in many places relating to his ministerial duties, moving to the Golden City area in 1984.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lockwood, LWML and Ladies Aide Association. She was a choir member at church and had many hobbies and interests including pottery, knitting, woodworking, gardening, golf, bowling and playing bridge.
She married Donald Vetter on Aug. 27, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisc. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1992.
