CANON CITY, Colo.- Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Penrose Baptist Church for Terry Nix, 64, Canon City, who died peacefully Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, at her home, surrounded by family, after a long battle with interstitial lung disease. Interment will follow at Mountain Vale Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, at Holt Family Funeral Home.

A luncheon at the church will be held prior to the service, at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in her name be made to Penrose Baptist Church, 502 Fremont Ave., Penrose, CO 81240.

Survivors include her sisters, Sherry Stettler, Janie Dunagan, Mary Ripperger, Katie Dill and Kenda Miller; sons, Matthew Nix and Jeremy Nix and wife Desiree; her grandchildren, Kayleen Nix, Lincoln Nix, Keely Nix, Paislea Nix and Tatum Nix and her beloved miniature Schnauzer, Phoebe Nix.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Wanda Dill and her husband, Harvey Nix.

Mrs. Nix was born Aug. 10, 1956, in Wichita, Kan., to Kenneth and Wanda Dill. She was the oldest of six girls. She married her high school sweetheart, Harvey Nix, on May 18, 1974 and they shared 38 memorable years of marriage. She worked in a career field she loved and enjoyed touching the hearts of many in her community as a registered nurse for 26 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed attending and helping with anything her family and friends were involved in. Her character outshined most and to put it simple, she was the best of all of us.
