Lamar scheduled for community COVID testing

October 16, 2020

A community COVID-19 testing will be held in Lamar on Thursday, Oct. 22, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the parking lot of the former Summer Fresh/Cash Saver building at 1201 E. 12th St.

According to the Barton County Health Department, the testing is free to the public and will be conducted by the Missouri National Guard. It is emphasized that those participating do not have to be sick or have a doctor’s order to get tested; in fact, those being tested do not even have to be a resident of the county.

There are 300 slots open and those wishing to participate should preregister online at health.mo.gov/communitytest. Those without internet access can call the COVID-19 hotline at 877-435-8411, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
