DOROTHY SPURLING

NEVADA-Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the Barton City Cemetery, for Dorothy Z. Spurling, 91, who died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at the Medical Lodge of Nevada.
Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include a son, Evert Wayne Creamer; stepsons, Earl, Merle and Kenny Spurling; a stepdaughter, Betty Reagon; 15 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Harry Janezich.
She was preceded in death by 10 siblings and a stepson, Bill Spurling.
Mrs. Spurling was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Willard, Wisc., to Anton and Mary (Hegler) Janezich. She grew up on the family farm, which is now home to her only surviving brother. As a young woman she married George Creamer. They eventually settled in Liberal near her husband's family. He died June 24, 1969. She married Elbert Spurling in 1984 and he died May 26, 1988.
Mrs. Spurling loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and gardening. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Liberal and the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed the friendship and activities of the Red Hatters.
