THOMAS WHITE

LAMAR- A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Thomas Albert White, 80, Lamar, who died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the First Christian Church of Lamar.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Janice; two brothers, John White and Jack White and wife Pat, both of Lamar; a sister, Helen Burr, Lamar; two sisters-in-law, Nancy White, Jasper and Carolyn Noyes, Liberal and two brothers-in-law, Larry Cowardin, Carl Junction and Bruce Cowardin and wife Donna, Frontenac, Kan.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Don and Ray White and a niece, Tina.
Mr. White was born Oct. 26, 1940, in Golden City, to Cordis and Myrtle (Voorhees) White. He attended school in Golden City until 11th grade, when he attended Lamar High School. He married Janice Marie Cowardin on June 10, 1967. He served in the US Army and then went on to work for Leggett and Platt for 40 years.
Mr. White was a member of First Christian Church of Lamar. He was also a long time member of the Kiwanis and volunteered to sell popcorn on the square during the fair each year and delivered apples to the grade schoolers. He was always cracking jokes. He loved to bowl and spent many hours at the bowling alley.
