Potter recognized at LHS sports banquet

Kiersten Potter, a sophomore at Lamar High School and the daughter of Mitch and Carissa Potter, received several accolades at the LHS sports banquet held Wednesday, Nov. 18. The banquet was posted online and anyone interested in viewing it can do so by going to the school’s website. Potter, who is a member of Lamar’s cross country team, was recognized as All District Runner of the Year, All District 1st Team, Big 8 Conference Female Runner of the Year and All Conference 1st Team. She also received a high school letter and also a plaque from last year for Runner of the Year.

The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Sixth grade girls earn Kansas State Championship
Lockwood High School cheerleaders Kalsee Garoutte, Rachel Baugh and Mekenzi Weimer recently received Academic All-State honors. To receive Academic All-State for cheer, one must be a varsity cheerleader, have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5, be in the top 20 percent of their class and be a current senior, junior or sophomore.

Deadline nearing for citywide garage sale listing
Shiloh Wilkinson, daughter of TJ and Melissa Wilkinson, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Shiloh enjoys drawing and reading in her spare time. She plans on playing volleyball or basketball next year. Her favorite subjects are Social Studies and Reading, because both teachers make it a lot of fun while they teach.
