The Lockwood Tigers won their own Dennis Cornish Classic for the first time since 2002 Saturday night with a 53-26 win over Lamar. The host got there by knocking off Golden City, the two seed, in the semifinal. Lamar, the one seed and defending champion, beat Stockton in the semifinal. Lockwood was the tree seed. Pictured for Lamar is junior Gunnar Dillon (left) and classmate Trace Willhite, who along with several of his other hardwood teammates, won the Class 2 football state championship less than 24-hours before the Saturday's game.
