Large crowd gathers in wee hours to welcome team home

Photo courtesy of Nadine Pattison The Lamar Tiger football team and faithful followers returned home in the wee hours of Saturday morning, Dec. 5, following their 6-3 victory on Friday evening over St. Pius X. Despite the chilly hours of the early morning hours, a good size crowd had gathered to welcome the team home. The contingent was led through town, escorted by law enforcement sounding their sirens and fireworks being shot off. Coach Jared Beshore was the first one off the bus, carrying the Class 2 State Championship trophy.
