SUSAN “DARLA” YORK

JASPER- The body has been taken for cremation and due to COVID-19 a celebration of life will be held at a later date for Susan “Darla” York, 58, who died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas; one son, Derek York, Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Danielle Neher and husband Andy, Jasper and Devon Pashia and husband Nick, Carthage; two brothers, Mike Helms, Neosho and Steve Helms, Oronogo; two sisters, Diane Helms and Derelene Knight, both of Lamar and seven grandchildren, Paten, Miranda, Evelyn, Scarlett, Keylee, Holly and Beniah.
Mrs. York was born March 20, 1962, in Webb City, to Louis Edward and Ruth Bernice (Kaderly) Helms. She was a lifetime resident of Jasper and was a business manager for P.A.R. in Jasper for several years. For the past five years she was employed by Leggett & Platt.
She attended Fairview Christian Church in Carthage. Her children and grandchildren were her everything.
She was united in marriage to Douglas York on June 28, 1980 at Zion Baptist Church in Jasper.
