GOLDEN CITY- A graveside service will be held at a later date at Paradise Cemetery near Jasper for Delores Yvonne Day, 90, Golden City, who died Friday, Jan. 15, 2021.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include a son, Jim Day and wife Lisa, Lebanon, Mo.; a daughter, Laurie Pierce and husband Richard, Altamont, Kan.; a daughter-in-law, Jerri (Day) Roberts, Lamar; four grandsons, Jeffrey Day, Jason Day, Jared Day and Renno Curtsinger and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Jeff Day.

Mrs. Day was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Huxley, Iowa, to Nellie (Johnson) and Amos Lande. She married the love of her life, Jimmie Day, on Oct. 21, 1952, in Fort Smith, Ark. Along with her husband she farmed and raised livestock for 55 years, first in Iowa and then Dade County, where they moved in 1970. Her husband then became an over the road truck driver and she traveled the entire country at his side for 23 years. They retired in Golden City in 2005.
