CATHERINE TUMMONS

LAMAR- A memorial service will be held at a later date for Catherine Tummons, 69, Lamar, who died at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, on December 29, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a bank account that was opened at Lamar Bank & Trust to help with final expenses.

Survivors include her husband Gerald; two sons, Jason and his wife Krissi and Jared; three grandchildren, Tanner, Caitlyn and Megan; one great granddaughter, Brynnlee; two sisters, Linda Burris and Donna Zaring and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Leroy Duzan.

Mrs. Tummons was born May 26, 1951, in Jackson County, to Mary and Charles Duzan. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1969, then went to beauty school and had her own beauty shop in Lamar until the 1980's. In 1976 she married Gerald Tummons and they had two sons. She went on to MSSU and received a degree in psychology with a minor in sociology in 1999.

She enjoyed reading, baking, shopping and being an active part of her children and grandchildren's lives. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. She has left a hole in the hearts of her family and friends.
