MILDRED STUMP

LOCKWOOD- A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lockwood Cemetery for Mildred Irene Stump, 86, Lockwood, who died Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, please be mindful of maintaining a social distance. Also, you are welcome to and, indeed, encouraged to wear face masks to protect yourselves and others.

Family and friends are welcome to view and pay their respects on Thursday from 12 noon to 5 p.m., at the Greenfield Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Crossing of the Lockwood United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne VanAcker and Jim VanAcker and wife Cherrie; two daughters, Bonnie Eggerman and husband Donald and Carole Locke and husband Eldon; three stepdaughters, Cindi Liffick, Molli Holmes and husband Mike and Cathy Stump; one brother, Bobby Bell; three grandchildren, Jeremy Eggerman, Kelly Eggerman and wife Jenifer and Lexi VanAcker; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Eggerman and fiancé Tabby, Elena Eggerman and Becca Eggerman and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlin Stump; three brothers, Orville Bell, Lyndal Bell and Paul Bell; four sisters, Lola Lasater, Aletha Racine, Ruby Fite and Betty Dinning; one stepson, Jon Stump; one stepdaughter, Terri Whitehead and husband Fred and one step son-in-law, Jim Liffick.

Mrs. Stump was born April 26, 1934, in Jerico Springs, to Levi and Viola Lula (Patton) Bell. She married Harlin A. Stump on Feb. 27, 1981. She worked at O’Sullivan Industries in Lamar for 27 years.

She was a member of the Lockwood First Baptist Church and the Jasper V.F.W. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Her meals were delicious and she kept an immaculate house. She was a talented seamstress and quilt maker. She taught wonderful values to live by and she showed by example.
