Watson named Big 8 Conference Swimmer of Year

Meghan Watson was named Big 8 Swimmer of the Year, following her performance at the 2021 Big 8 Conference Championships on January 26. The Lamar Senior capped off her high school career with four more Conference medals - three gold and one silver. Watson is a three-time champion in her signature stoke, the 100 yard butterfly and holds the Big 8 Conference record in this event. She has also won the 100 yard backstroke, in dominating fashion, the past two years. In addition, Watson has been a key member of seven All-Conference relays over the last three seasons. This year, the Lady Tigers won the 200 yard medley relay and took runner-up honors in the 400 yard freestyle relay.
