LAMAR- Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Guy Melvin Ritchey, 93, who died Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at Cox Barton County Hospital in Lamar. Burial will be in Lake Cemetery.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Meals on Wheels, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include one son, Mel Richey and wife Pat, Louisburg, Kan.; one daughter, Pam Eaves and husband Dave, Lamar; eight grandchildren, Scott Richey and wife Alyona, Arlington, Va., Sarah Logan and husband Trever, Virginia Beach, Va., Hannah Costigan and husband Jason, Olathe, Kan., Emily Cates, Louisburg, Kan., Lucas Nay and wife Andrea, Grain Valley, Christopher Nay and wife Tiffany, Lee's Summit, Kelly Nay, Orrick, Brandy Lawrence and husband Ethan, Lamar; 12 great-grandchildren and one sister, Neva Keller, White Cloud, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his wife Irma; one daughter, Becky Nay; five siblings and his beloved dog, Bridget.

Mr. Richey was born Nov. 11, 1927, in White Cloud, Kan., to Phillip Edward Richey and Zula Mae (Steeley) Richey. He married Irma Jane Nuzum on June 14, 1949, in Troy, Kan.

He worked as a sales representative for Prudential Insurance. He loved bird hunting, pheasant hunting, crappie fishing and fishing trips with the family to Canada. He was a Kansas City Royal and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was a member of Oakton United Methodist Church.
