LEE BUZZARD

LAMAR- Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Daniel Funeral Home for Leonard Lee Buzzard, 85, Lamar, who died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at Cox Barton County Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. A private burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 12 noon.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Milford Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Marguerite; one son, Jim Buzzard and wife Lisa, Lamar; two daughters, Janet McArthur and husband Charles and Jackie Speights, all of Lamar; one brother, Wayne Buzzard and wife Patsy, St. Paul, Kan.; five grandchildren, Katie McArthur, Anya Gripka and husband Tyler, Alexa Buzzard, Laura Speights and Cole Speights and wife Tabby and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Buzzard; a sister, Marguerite Thornburg; a brother, Harvey Buzzard; three half-brothers, Harold, Donald and Earl Blades and several extended family members.

Mr. Buzzard was born October 12, 1935 in Lamar, to Roy Richard and Ethel Milton (White) Buzzard. He married Marguerite Marie (Rawlings) Buzzard on Oct. 27, 1957, in Liberal and together they had four children. He was the owner/operator of B & O Construction, served in the National Guard for 13 years, was a charter member of the Eternal Order of the Eagles No. 4405 and a member of Milford Christian Church.
