CATHERINE MOORE
CARTHAGE-A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the IOOF First Christian Church Cemetery in Golden City for Catherine June Moore, 84, Carthage, who died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage. Pastor Aaron Talbott will officiate. Pallbearers are nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pugh Funeral Home, Golden City.
Memorial contributions may be made to the I.O.O.F. First Christian Church Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie Moore and his companion, Kelly; grandchildren, Heather and Mike; five great-grandchildren, all of Tama, Iowa; her brother, Gene Moore and wife Ruth, Tulsa, Okla.; five sisters, Dorothy Kniffer, Cape Fair, Fern Goodenough, Carterville, Lois Rush and husband Norman, Carthage, Mary Ann Simmons and husband Gary, Alba and Patty Baker and husband Wayne, Carl Junction and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Lee Moore and a grandson.
Mrs. Moore was born June 14, 1931, in Dade County, to Franklin Thomas and Marjorie (Heath) Moore. Her stepfather, who raised her, was Harry Hurrell. She grew up in Golden City and attended school there. She left Golden City in 1976 and moved to Joplin. In 1981 she moved to Leisure Living in Monett and lived there for 22 years. In 2013 she moved to St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage.
She liked to help when she was at Leisure Living and she enjoyed listening to country and gospel singing. Before her eyesight was affected, she crocheted and did embroidery.
