LAMAR- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Mable Louise Beatty, 94, Lamar, who died Saturday, March 6, 2021, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage. Burial will follow in Lake Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday, at the funeral home.

To honor the family, it is requested that everyone wear a mask during the visitation and funeral.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to the Lamar Fire Department, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include one son, Gary Beatty and wife Betty, Bloomington, Ill.; one daughter, Betty Saferite and husband Frank, Carthage; three grandchildren, Beth Foust and husband Steve, Carthage, Carla Evans and husband Charles, Liberal and Brian Beatty and wife Deedra, Carthage; seven great-grandchildren, Addie Foust, Shannen Evans, Ashley Ehlmann and husband Tom, Tiffany Evans, Brianna Evans, Blake Beatty and Kade Beatty and two great-great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Ehlmann and Avery Ehlmann.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Larry Beatty and one grandson, Rick Saferite.

Mrs. Beatty was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Jerico Springs, to Art Lewis and Gracie Leona (Dodd) Freedle. She married Melvin Earl Beatty on Feb. 9, 1945, in Girard, Kan. and together they raised three children. She was a member of Lamar First Christian Church and worked at O'Sullivan Industries for 26 years, as well as Lamar schools, DeMarie Corner Drug and ran Eagan Oil Gas Station (Phillips 66).
